What is your favorite couch potato activity: reading, watching movies, watching sports, napping, anything on TV, computer games, play cards, or other?

At the end of a working day & after all our post-class chores are complete, we like to settle down on the sofa for a good movie or  documentary, with some nibbles & maybe a glass of wine. If I’m on my own in the evening I tend to curl up with a book or dive into Photoshop.

I don’t really do stuff, so my kids are well trained to not buy me pointless presents, but knowing we don’t have TV they usually send us DVD’s to watch, which is great because they know exactly what we like.

Not having a TV means we always get to choose exactly what we want to watch, with no risk of interruption by commercials. Absolute bliss.

What is your favorite toppings on pizza?

Hmm!!! I’m on a diet you know 😦

Let’s see : cheddar, tomato, mozzarella, chilli oil, chillies, olives, onions, red peppers, mushrooms & coriander.

So now I’m hungry lol.

What is your favorite genre of movie or book?

Factual: Ancient history of languages, religion, culture, esoterics, spirituality & all that jazz.

Examples: The White Goddess – Robert Graves, The Hero With A Thousand Faces – Joseph Campbell, The Golden Bough – Sir James Frazer

Fiction: Anything weird, magical, futuristic, ancient, secret societies, alternative dimensions, that sort of thing.

Examples: Foucault’s Pendulum – Umberto Eco, Gormenghast – Mervyn Peake, Dune – Frank Herbert, One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel García Márquez.

Somewhere in between: Religious scripture, mythology etc.

Examples: The Mahabharata, The Bible, The Koran, Nag Hamadi, All types of mythology

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake first?

I’m not crazy about cake with frosting so I don’t eat it very often, but if I do it’s definitely got to be together.

I even try to nibble in circles so that there is always the same ratio of frosting to cake.

That way I’ve still got a bit of each left for that very last bite.
