As soon as I read the challenge I thought of this …
It’s a huge glass thingamajig hanging in the entrance of the V & A in London.
Here it is in all it’s majesty!

Chihuly! I’ve been to three of his exhibits. Every one of them have been fabulous. I need to do some posts about the different exhibits. Thanks for adding to my backlog of topics to post about. Cheers.

I believe this is a Dale Chihuly art piece. There was a very similar one exhibited in our own Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. And if I had a photo of it, I would have submitted it for this week’s challenge? Good for you!

Thank you & indeed it is. It’s hanging directly over the information desk. I think I’d be just a tad paranoid working under it lol 🙂

Haha. As many readers have noted it’s a Dale Chihuly piece. I should have written more but I’d forgotten his name, it was late & I just wanted to post & fall into bed lol 🙂

My shot was not very well planned. I was leaving & in a rush, so probably you got a better shot. I’ll be back there in the summer & I’ll try & get a better exposure then. Thanks for visiting 🙂

Khana–I attended this Chihuly exhibit with my family: http://www.chihuly.com/chihuly-at-the-conservatory_detail.aspx Click on the arrows to advance through the slideshow. The piece you show is larger than any other pieces I’ve seen to date. (Imagine the safety considerations about people walking UNDER the thing! What a supporting cable was needed!)

Thanks for the link John. What a wonderful collection.
He did a huge installation here in 2000. It was in Jerusalem & he created tons of glass thingamajigs & put them all over the Old City.
Sadly I was not here then & didn’t get to see it, but the re are pics on the same site here …
