From the Gut: Love & Lindisfarne

Tell us about the last time you had a real, deep, crying-from-laughing belly laugh.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us JOYFUL.

This picture is one I’ve had since around 2002.

It’s a scan of an old photo of me & my oldest grandson.

It was taken on a very joyful day trip to Lindisfarne.

This poem is one I’ve had for about a month.

It’s featured on my words page, but I’ve never actually posted it before.

It seemed like a good one for today’s prompt.

What joy to find love!

What joy to find love!

What pain in the quest.

Time searching in vain

For the ultimate test.

 *

What joy to find love!

That selfless state.

Celebrating wholeness

Worth all of the wait.

 *

What joy to find love!

And to find it while free.

Unfettered, unbound &

Ready to be.
