Earworm: What Does It Mean?

Write whatever you normally write about, and weave in a book quote, film quote, or song lyric that’s been sticking with you this week.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us INSPIRATION.

Well here’s a poem made completely from other people’s songs.

I’ve included the performers names after their quotes.

Just ignore the names when you read it

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away,

now it looks as though they’re here to stay.

Beatles

Still

Pete Sinfield

Today is the greatest day I’ve ever known.

Can’t wait for tomorrow, I might not have that long.

Smashing Pumpkins

Send me a sign -For too long you kept me waiting

Send me a sign – From the eternal skies

Gamma Ray

I got what I wanted

I got just what I always wanted

Kittie

Everything is crumbling around me

Feels like the ending of the times

Or is it all just a sign?

B.O.B

I lost my job to a machine.

Curl Up & Die

It’s true!

I’m free

I’m free

and freedom tastes of reality.

What does it mean?

In this post:

Might As Well Jump: Into the Unknown

I spoke about my need to release my inner artist & considered

giving up my job to dedicate myself fully to the arts.

My laptop, with all my teaching materials had just been stolen.

I said I was waiting for another sign, well today I got two.

The graphics card on my brand new laptop has malfunctioned & ……

I was told at a meeting this morning that the language school which employs me

is closing the centre from which I receive most of my students.

They are moving on to electronic, internet based courses …

Leaving me to get on with my art & poetry & writing & photography & ….

I guess that means I’ll be going on a diet too & …

Possibly that nomadic lifestyle is closer than I thought.

Still even if I do end up starving on the street …

At least …

I did it my way

Frank Sinatra

Thank you & Goodnight
