Safety First: The Centre of Attention

The Centre of Attention
The Centre of Attention

I spotted her on my way home.

She was unwanted, filthy & lonely.

Damaged goods, as they say.

A group of men had gathered around her commenting, laughing.

I walked by wondering what her story was.

Who had abandoned her like this?

Somehow I couldn’t get her out of my mind.

I was loath to venture back to where the guys had gathered,

but I felt that she deserved better.

I braced myself, turned & headed back.

I walked boldly into the group & blurted out …

“I’ll take her with me if that’s ok.”

They stared at me … there were some mumblings.

I had to be quick.

I made a grab for her.

She resisted, but I was relentless.

Finally she succumbed to my will.

I got her home, took her straight to the shower & scrubbed her clean.

She lives with me now & with a bit of work she could have a great modelling career ahead of her.

Her debut photo shoot was a great success, she really was The Centre of Attention.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the very near future.
