Akka, Akko, Acre – A city with many names & that’s not counting Ake, Akre & ‘St. John d’Acre’ as it was called during the crusades.
The ancient Egyptians possibly called it Aak & the Assyrians called it Akk. It is mentioned in countless historical texts.
There has been some kind of settlement there for at least 5000 years. That’s an awful lot of history.
It is situated in Western Gaililee & is an important city to Jews, Muslims, Christians & Baha’is.
I have been there several times & every time I go I discover something new. So here are some of my vacation pics …
